Veteran’s Constituency Survey

National Desert Storm Memorial

Veteran’s Constituency Survey

Background:

A consortium of patriots and Desert Storm War veterans has been assembled and has formed a Board of Directors with the singular and noble goal of designing, securing funding and building a fitting National Desert Storm War Memorial in Washington, D.C. Legislation has been introduced at the national level for this memorial. It is hoped that this legislation will pass within the next few weeks and will result in the appropriation of a significant tract of land on which to erect this memorial in Washington, D.C.

The National Desert Storm Memorial Board of Directors has agreed that it is imperative to first seek input from those members of the US Armed Services who were directly involved in the conflict before commencing conceptual design of this important memorial. If you are a Desert Storm Veteran, we are asking you to take a few minutes to share with us your personal thoughts and opinions. The goal in this survey, specifically, is to tap into the hearts and minds of Desert Storm War veterans to gain an understanding of what they feel was most important about Operation Desert Storm, what sacrifices and lessons learned should be remembered about the war by future generations, as well as what thoughts or images veterans may have in their minds about how their ideas might manifest themselves in a built form.

The National Desert Storm board and design team will review the submissions, and if permitted to do so by the submitter, may follow up with a few selected submitters to schedule telephone or personal interviews to discuss their ideas further. You may submit your response anonymously if you wish, or you may include your contact information and indicate if it is acceptable to contact you for a possible follow-up interview.
